Rashid Kay & Zingah Weigh In On Who Has A Better Pen Game Between Kid X & Priddy Ugly
Rashid Kay & Zingah Weigh In On Who Has A Better Pen Game Between Kid X & Priddy Ugly. Renowned SA hip-hop authorities Rashid Kay and Zingah have recently sparked a fiery debate within the rap community, igniting discussions about the lyrical prowess of two South African heavyweights: Kid X and Priddy Ugly.
With both artists boasting a catalogue of hits and a reputation for their skilful wordplay, the question of who possesses the superior “pen game” has become a hot topic among fans and fellow musicians alike.
Rashid Kay, a respected figure in the South African hip-hop scene, known for his insightful critiques and deep understanding of the genre, weighed in on the matter during a recent Culture Chop session on Choppin’ It With Zingah Podcast.
“Those are different pens, (Priddy Ugly and Kid X), Priddy can’t be as hood as Kid X and Kid X can’t be as poetic as Priddy Ugly. That’s why I’m saying those are two different pens,” Rashid Kay said.
Entering the fray with fervour, Zingah passionately asserted that Kid X possesses the lyrical finesse akin to Priddy Ugly, suggesting that he wields the creative arsenal necessary for poetic expression in music. “Wait can Kid X not be as poetic as Priddy? Kid X can get down like that,” Zingah said.
Responding to Zingah’s argument, Rashid said; “on that lyrical miracle sh*t, saying I can and saying I do those are two different things.” But to that regard, Zingah maintained that Kid X can go toe to toe with Priddy Ugly in poetic rap. “But he has it in his arsenal that’s what I’m saying,” Zingah added.
