Born in Lesotho, Malome Vector rose to prominence with his unique blend of Hip hop. Hit songs like Dumelang, Dikeledi, Lerato, and Lerumo amongst others gave him the much-needed breakthrough in the competitive SA hip-hop industry.

The music industry is grappling with the loss of such a talented and influential artist who had so much potential. News of the Lesotho-born hitmaker’s passing began to circulate after the Lesotho Times, a local publication, announced the rapper’s death on their Facebook page.

“Malome Vector, real name Bokang Moleli, lost his life in a car accident on N1 Road in Free State, South Africa, earlier today. Malome Vector was in the company of his other two crew members, Lizwi Wokuqala and one Damos, who also died on the spot. Another artist, Puleng Phoofolo, and the driver are said to be in a critical condition in hospital.

“According to the SAPS report, the five were travelling in a Datsun Go heading south of the N1 when a tyre burst and the vehicle lost control. It then collided into the rear wheels of a truck. Truck driver did not sustain any injuries,” reported Lesotho Times.

Recently, Malome Vector dropped an EP titled 1964 named after Lesotho’s independence year, the EP reflects the artist’s quest for independence in his music career. Through a blend of soulful melodies, rhythmic beats, and heartfelt lyrics, Vector explores themes of love, loss, resilience, and cultural identity.

The project showcases his talent and passion, offering listeners a glimpse into his unique perspective and the rich tapestry of Lesotho’s heritage. The rapper died not only with a passion for music but also with so much love for his country’s heritage and its people.
