This recognition comes as no surprise to fans who have been following their incredible journeys in the music industry, and it marks another milestone for the two artists who continue to push boundaries with their unique sounds and influential storytelling.

Maglera Doe Boy is currently enjoying a good stint in SA Hip Hop after he dropped his project Maglera Tapes. The body of work received a passable reception amongst SA Hip hop fans. However, Maglera Doe Boy has been a massive contributor to SA Hip Hop as he has featured on a slew of songs in the game in 2024. Hence his nomination at Trace Awards 2025 does not come as a surprise to some.

Joining him in this prestigious category is none other than The Super Star himself, Nasty C. Known for his versatile flow and international collaborations, Nasty C has been a dominant force in hip hop for years, cementing his status as one of Africa’s most successful artists.

In the past few years, Nasty C has been busy at work dropping music for his loyal Ivyson fanbase and the rap music at large. The release of the I Love It Here album in 2023 indicated the maturity of Nasty C when it comes to his approach when it comes to releasing quality and mature music. Recently, the famed rapper dropped a new EP Confuse The Enemy featuring Lekaa Beats.

However, they won’t be the only ones vying for the top spot. The TRACE Awards 2025 presents fierce competition from some of the continent’s finest talents such as Sarkodie, Omododublvck, Didi B, Suspect 95, and Young Lunya making this an all-star lineup.

The Trace Awards 2025 will take place on the 26th of February in Zanzibar, Tanzania and voting lines are open for fans to vote for their favourite artist.
