Danya Devs Honours Malome Vector In New Single “Family Anthem” Featuring Kwesta. South African artist Danya Devs dropped a deeply personal new single titled “Family Anthem”, featuring none other than Kwesta. But beyond its infectious beats and lyrical flow, the track holds a special place in Danya’s heart — it’s more than a song; it’s a heartfelt tribute and a celebration of brotherhood.

In an intimate revelation, Danya Devs shared the inspiration behind the track, calling it a “home song.” He explained that while crafting the song, he was listing some of his closest brothers — his “boys” — and realised one important figure was missing: Malome Vector, who passed away last year in a fatal car accident.
“I was thinking, ‘Esh, I’m mentioning all of my brothers, but what about Victory (Malome Vector)? How am I going to include him?” Danya recalled. The solution came in a brilliant moment of homage — he incorporated Vector’s iconic chorus from his hit “Dumelang.” The phrase “Hele, hele, hele mama hele” rings out in “Family Anthem” as a direct shout-out and a tribute to Vector’s enduring influence.
Adding to the significance, Danya timed the release of “Family Anthem” to coincide with Malome Vector’s birthday month, July. “So I dropped the song in July because it’s his birthday month. I dedicated that song to Malome Vector — he was a real soldier,” Danya said with admiration.
