Dee Koala Announces ‘iiNtsikelelo’—A Soul-Baring Sophomore Album. Cape Town’s very own rap dynamo, Dee Koala, has officially announced the arrival of her much-anticipated sophomore album, iiNtsikelelo, set to drop on August 8th. More than just a collection of tracks, Dee describes this 18-track body of work as her “most vulnerable and powerful” release to date.

In a heartfelt post shared on her socials, Dee Koala called iiNtsikelelo both a memorial and a manifesto — a deeply personal journey that reflects her ability to turn devastating loss into a springboard for artistic purpose and personal evolution. The project’s title, which means “blessings” in isiXhosa, hints at its spiritual and emotional weight.

“This album is a chronicle of how one transforms grief into growth,” Dee wrote. “It’s about rising from the ashes with strength, with clarity, and with intention.”

The production lineup is equally impressive. Dee Koala takes on executive producer duties alongside longtime collaborator Leo Lobelo. The sharp ears of DJ Fabo (A&R) and the engineering finesse of Zealous Zeebee, who handled recording and mastering, ensure a refined and intentional sonic experience.

Known for her commanding delivery, unapologetic presence, and infectious Cape Town lingo, Dee Koala first turned heads with her debut project 4 The Khaltsha — a statement of pride and power from the streets of Khayelitsha to the mainstream. With iiNtsikelelo, she steps into a new chapter, embracing vulnerability without losing her lyrical edge.
