25K Confirms Passion Project Ahead Of Final Chapter In Acclaimed Album Trilogy

Speaking during an interview on Culture’s Biggest about what’s next, the “Don Kilograms” hitmaker admitted he is eager to share the music but is not ready to reveal too many details just yet.

“I actually am, dawg. But I don’t wanna say too much,” he said. “That project I was telling you about, yeah. That’s like a passion project of mine. I’m gonna put it out there… It’s gonna be the follow-up to… I don’t know if I’m gonna give this away.”

25K went on to explain that the upcoming release is separate from the narrative established in Pheli Makaveli and Loyal to the Plug: The Life & Times of Don Kilograms. Instead, he described it as a bridge leading fans to the long-awaited conclusion of the trilogy.

“The project that I’m working on now does not fall into the timeline of Pheli Makaveli, Loyal to the Plug, you know. It’s just the filler for the album that’s gonna complete the trilogy of that, which is gonna be crazy, dawg,” he explained.

His comments all but confirm that Pheli Makaveli (2021) and Loyal to the Plug: The Life & Times of Don Kilograms (2024) were always intended to be the opening chapters of a larger story. While the final instalment remains under wraps, fans can now expect an entirely separate body of work to arrive before the trilogy reaches its climax.

Although 25K chose not to disclose a title, release date or potential collaborators, his excitement for the project was impossible to miss. Rather than a quick commercial release, the rapper described it as something deeply personal, offering listeners a fresh experience before he returns to close one of South African hip-hop’s most compelling album narratives.

Known for weaving authentic street stories with razor-sharp lyricism and unmistakable Pretoria influence, 25K continues to build anticipation with every move. If his latest comments are anything to go by, supporters have two major releases to look forward to, beginning with a passion project and ending with what he promises will be a spectacular finale to the Pheli Makaveli saga.
