Blxckie Announces The Somnyama Show With A Full-Circle Return To Cape Town. Blxckie is taking The Somnyama Show back to its starting point before bringing the series home to Durban. The Durban-born rapper has announced two upcoming dates for the popular live experience, with Cape Town getting the first taste on 31 October at Hearty Collective, followed by a Durban homecoming on 28 November at The Villa. Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Blxckie said he was taking The Somnyama Show “back to where it started in 2023, then hitting the pozi as usual,” while tagging both venues and leaving fans with his signature green-heart sign-off. He also teased the possibility of additional dates, asking followers if more cities should be added to the run.
The choice of Hearty Collective carries some history. The venue in Woodstock hosted the very first Somnyama Show on 23 June 2023, when Blxckie shared the stage with A-Reece and a hip-hop-focused lineup. What began as a single event has since developed into a recurring live experience closely associated with Blxckie’s musical identity and his connection to South African hip-hop culture.
The return to Cape Town therefore feels like a full-circle moment for the rapper. Three years after launching the series at Hearty Collective, Blxckie will once again bring the Somnyama energy to the venue before heading back to KwaZulu-Natal for another Durban showcase.
Over the years, The Somnyama Show has become known for more than just Blxckie’s headline performances. The events have brought together established artists, rising acts, collaborators and surprise guests, creating nights that feel as much like community gatherings as they do concerts.
The supporting lineups for the upcoming Cape Town and Durban shows have yet to be announced, but if previous editions are anything to go by, fans can expect a mix of hard-hitting hip-hop performances, melodic sounds and plenty of unexpected moments.
With Cape Town scheduled for Halloween weekend and Durban following in November, both dates are positioned for big nights.
For now, Blxckie is keeping the focus on the two confirmed stops. But with the rapper already asking fans whether more dates should be added, The Somnyama Show could still have a few more surprises in store.
