Kabelo Unveils ‘For King and Country’ Artwork And Tracklist Ahead of Album Release

Kabelo Unveils ‘For King and Country’ Artwork And Tracklist Ahead of Album Release. Kabelo Mabalane is gearing up for a major milestone in his musical journey, unveiling the official artwork and tracklist for his 10th solo album, For King and Country, ahead of its arrival on 30 October 2026.

The kwaito veteran, pastor, and cultural icon shared the announcement on Monday, giving listeners a closer look at the project he has been building towards. Alongside the artwork and tracklist, Kabelo delivered a simple but powerful message: “Still standing. Artwork for solo album number 10 is here. Album out October 30th‼️”
The album cover offers a glimpse into the creative world behind the project. Set against a black background, the illustrated portrait of Kabelo features a colourful collection of faces, objects, and symbols emerging from within his head. From a floating blue hat and an orange halo-like ring to musical instruments, expressive hands, and other artistic details, the imagery brings together different elements of his identity and creative journey.
The bold white lettering displaying his name, followed by the album title, gives the artwork a timeless feel while reinforcing the project’s personal and spiritual undertones.
For King and Country features 12 tracks, bringing together a range of collaborators and choirs whose contributions reflect Kabelo’s journey through South African street culture, music, and faith.
The tracklist opens with “Anna Mae” featuring Ishmael, followed by “Everybody Needs Somebody” featuring The Arrows. Other songs include “Khomelela,” “Somebody’s Calling” featuring Rhema Choir, “Temptation,” and “Magesh is Beethoven” featuring F3 Dipapa.
The remaining tracks are “Open Heaven” featuring Rhema Choir, “Glory” featuring Rhema Choir, “Umnikazi Wendawo,” “Makoya Liberator” featuring Lux City Music, “Thank God, God Is God” featuring Lux City Music, and “You Can’t Curse What Is Blessed” featuring CFCI Choir.
One of the most notable titles is “Magesh is Beethoven,” a tribute to Kabelo’s late TKZee bandmate Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala. The album’s release date was moved to 30 October to allow space for the celebration of Magesh’s 50th heavenly birthday earlier in the month.
The project also represents Kabelo’s return to a full-length solo release after more than a decade, making it a significant moment for an artist whose career has spanned generations. He has described the sound as “Street Psalms,” a musical expression that brings together his kwaito roots, gospel influences, live instrumentation, and contemporary soul.
The album arrives as Kabelo celebrates 30 years in the music industry, marking three decades of artistic evolution, personal growth, and cultural influence.
Beyond the album release, Kabelo is preparing to take the new music to the stage through two special performances at Teatro Montecasino on 15 and 16 December 2026. Accompanied by a 16-piece ensemble, he will perform material from For King and Country alongside reimagined versions of classics from his catalogue, in partnership with Kaya 959.
With the artwork and tracklist now out in the open, anticipation is building for a project that brings together different chapters of Kabelo’s life and career. From his foundations in kwaito to his journey in faith, For King and Country promises a deeply personal addition to his musical legacy.
As his announcement makes clear, Kabelo is still standing, still creating, and ready to open another chapter. For King and Country arrives on Friday, 30 October 2026.
