Kwesta Gets R30 000 At The SABC Top 10 Summer Song Award Ceremony
Kwesta keeps on winning. He recently received a R30 000 price money At The SABC Top 10 Summer Song Award Ceremony two night ago. It was all glitz and glamour at the SABC Summer Song of the Year prize handover ceremony hosted at the trendy Sound Room in Kyalami Johannesburg to honor the Top 10 SABC Summer Song finalists voted by fans across all SABC radio platforms.
He took to his Instagram account to thank his fans, and wrote: “Collecting the Summer Song Top 10 Award last night… R30 000 prize money isn’t too bad either. Thank you for voting this the second accolade we’ve collected in as many months. Lets double that this month at #MMA16 *120*1512# let’s keep voting to win!”
SABC representatives, together with a handful of fans gathered at the chic event to celebrate in great camaraderie alongside the crème de la crème in the entertainment industry. The ceremony kicked off with a memorable performance by Mr. Serious, Musa which featured producer extraordinaire, Robbie Malinga singing the hit single, Mthande. Hip hop sensation, Kwesta followed with an equally electric performance of his hit song, ‘Ngud’ which is nominated for the MMA 16.
Ngud’ is dedicated to the cheap South African beer that rappers, Kwesta and Cassper Nyovest – arguably the foremost rapper on the continent – drink while enjoying the finer things in life. It is an exercise in genre obfuscation, a blend of kwaito, hip-hop and trap music to lay the groundwork for a summer of chilling.
