Nasty C On His Father’s Disapproval Of His Career Choice. It is common for parents to have a problem with their children becoming rappers. Or at least they don’t agree with it initially.

On his latest interview Nasty C revealed that his father who worked as an HR manager didn’t approve of him becoming a rapper. “He used to give me such a hard time,” said Nasty C. “But now, he sees all the hard work I put in. He’s proud.”

In addition to him proving to his father that he didn’t make a blood choice, he signed to Def Jam and states what it meant.

Nasty C says his decision to sign with Def Jam came down to one word: crossover. “We were ready to take this whole thing global, and Def Jam has been doing this for as long as I’ve even been around,” he said.

Manager Colin Gayle, CEO of Africa Creative Agency (ACA), adds: “The fact that he signed to Def Jam, the epitome of hip-hop, is a loud statement to the world of where hip-hop is — and the opportunity that [Nasty C] has in front of him.”

The Bamm Bamm rapper’s mother passed on when he was just 11 months young. The name Ivyson he plans to use as his next stage name is his mother’s.
