South African artists K.O, Holly Rey, and DJ Dimplez emerge as the Top Three Contenders in HUAWEI MUSIC Africa’s Artist Playlist Challenge

Ten of Africa’s leading and emerging artists have teamed up with HUAWEI MUSIC by curating hand-picked playlists for the fans to vote on.

Music lovers across South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya have been casting their votes for Africa’s Number 1 artist-curated playlist, available exclusively on HUAWEI MUSIC, and three prominent artists have emerged as the top three.

Leading in first place is South African hip hop artist K.O, known for classic hits like Caracara, Fire Emoji, and Say U Will featuring Nandi Madida. Currently occupying second place is award winning Afro-Soul hit-maker Holly Rey, best known for her singles Deeper, and You. Diverse artist and producer DJ Dimplez’s playlist ranks in third place, taking listeners on an eclectic journey of his new and old releases. It boasts features and collaborations from across the genre spectrums of RnB, Hip Hop, House, Afro-beats and Electro-pop, including Anatii, Khuli Chana, and Ice Prince, to name just a few.

HUAWEI MUSIC’s Artist Playlist Challenge ends tomorrow, 20 August 2020. The Number 1 artist will receive prominent featuring and marketing support from HUAWEI MUSIC across the South African, Nigerian and Kenyan stores, for the remainder of the year.

Other exclusive artist-curated playlists featured in the campaign include: Kiddominant, Majorsteez, pH Raw X, Julanie J, Mvzzle, Dr. Bone, and Malachi. Some artists chose to present a selection of their favourite tunes, whilst others opted to showcase the best of their releases in one playlist, as chosen and curated by them.
