However, Big Xhosa has forged his path, etching his name in the unforgiving landscape of the genre with a scorching SA Hip Hop Diss track that ignited dialogue among both artists and fans. This bold move garnered him the attention necessary to make waves in the industry.

However, despite his initial breakthrough, he finds himself grappling to reach the pinnacles of success attained by other rappers of his generation. Having collaborated with notable SA rappers, Big Xhosa recently made it clear that he is not a Hip Hop artist despite acknowledging his past fondness for the genre.

In a Facebook post, the Ninyile hitmaker candidly said that he is only an artist and not a hip-hop artist and he doesn’t want to be in any Hip hop conversation. “I’m not no hip hop artist I’m a musician. Hip Hop was my first love of you music but I’m not no hip hop artist I don’t wanna be in any SA HIP HOP discussions respectfully,” he wrote.

Having recently distanced himself from the label of a Hip Hop artist, Big Xhosa had previously asserted his dominance by proclaiming himself as the sole South African rapper with the ultimate diss track in SA Hip Hop history. “Big Xhosa has the best SA HIP HOP diss track in HISTORY of SA HIP HOP, none compares! Close that discussion boys. Andiko Lapho futhi,” he said.
