“I earned my manhood,” Emtee On Why He Enjoyed Initiation School

“I earned my manhood,” Emtee On Why He Enjoyed Initiation School. It’s that season once more where Nguni cultures mostly Xhosa celebrate the initiation of young men.

These young men go through a number of unsaid experiences aimed at preparing them to become ‘real’ men. What they are taught there they expected to implement in the real world.

Rapper Emtee has always been proud of his “manhood” in a sense that he boasts about what the initiation school taught him, he calls himself iHlubi.

“Ndili Hlubi and proud. I’m grateful to my forefathers. This was the best moment in my life. I know my grandfather proud of me: I’d do gain and again. I love it. Made me who I am and I passed with flying colors,” wrote The Hustla.

He added: “I love my culture. I earned my manhood. I’m a warrior.”
