Nevertheless, a tinge of disappointment lingers among certain listeners who mourn the perceived end of Priddy Ugly‘s musical journey with the DUST album. Despite this, the project showcases exceptional tracks, with the collaboration between Priddy Ugly and Zulu Mecca on the track “Soul Food” garnering noteworthy attention and earning exceptional remarks from fans.

Taking to Twitter (X), one of the fans asked Priddy Ugly how the track Soul Food was made and who came up with the first verse and the writing process of the track. “I need to understand how Soul Food was made @ItsPriddyUgly and @ZuluMecca , who came up with the first verse, did you have to re-write or it worked the first time around? We you actually in the stu together or? And the hook?” Read the post.

Priddy Ugly responded by sharing that he penned and recorded the song, recognizing the need for Zulu Mecca’s contribution. He reached out to her, and upon hearing the track, Zulu Mecca loved it and promptly added her touch, resulting in the creation of a magical collaboration. The Come To My Kasi hitmaker added that among all the artists on his album, only Zulu Mecca and K.Keed shared studio sessions with him.

“Shooter worked on the instrumental & played it for me, I loved it. I sat with the record for a while. I wrote to it & recorded it at home & knew that I wanted Mecca on it. Sent it to Vaughn, he sent it to Mecca, Mecca loved it & set up a session to record to it the next day, I joined her in the studio. She’s elite, she was already done recording her verse by the time I arrived & was just working on her backings with Shooter. Took the song back home, worked on it’s arrangement & the rest is history. Mecca & K.Keed were the only artists featured on the project who I was actually in studio with.” Priddy Ugly narrated.

Priddy Ugly’s unwavering dedication and hard work in his craft are yielding results, especially with the success of his album. However, the rapper channelled the same energy and vibe in the track “Soul Food” making it a must-listen for any SA Hip Hop fan.
