Zingah Reacts To Claims He Was Not Recognized In CashTime

Zingah Reacts To Claims He Was Not Recognized In CashTime. Smashis was a name that made Zingah a prominent figure in the SA Hip hop space when he was still affiliated with CashTime. As the saying goes, all good things come to an end and Zingah’s time at CashTime was cut short, but the rapper holds so many good memories of that era.

Zingah Reacts To Claims He Was Not Recognized In CashTime

With everything he accomplished under K.O.’s wings, the rapper’s achievements at the time are still scrutinized, with some individuals sceptical of his significance. Taking to Twitter, tweeps delved into the conversation about the impact K.O brought with CashTime. “Cash time came with the petrol n milk vibe, everyone dressed like KO esp the Christmas kids, I don’t think there’s a bigger impact in SA music history than that,” read the tweet.

In response, Zingah alluded that CashTime‘s impact was only matched with Boyz n Buckz at the time. “That level impact has only been reached by Boyz n Bucks. Any other crew can forget it, respectfully.” Tweeted Zingah.

The rapper’s appreciation for CashTime’s impact since he was part of it prompted one of his fans to question his influence on the group. “No disrespect bro but nobody ever said I wanna rap and be like smashis, you are dope af but you weren’t that recognised in cashtime (light skinned nigga effect ),” read the tweet.

Zingah laughed at the claims as he referred to his interview with Touchline who admitted to having quit rapping because of them. “Blatant cap! Touchline was just on the Podcast saying that he quick rap coz he couldn’t sound like us! Because the whole game was running with the sound n style.” Zingah tweeted.

In the interview, Touchline said that he quit rap because of CashTime and how smooth they sounded at that time. The rapper said his voice could not meet the standards which were set by the likes of Zingah, K.O and Kid X hence he decided to throw in the towel.

“I quit because of CashTime, that’s one of the reasons. At the time, I remember I was still trying to find myself with the music and everything. I remember the thing that was popping was you guys (CashTime). This is like Caracara time,” said Touchline.

“I remember I went into the studio and I tried to replicate that (Caracara sound). I remember it sounded so terrible, my voice was rough, you guys have the smooth, and I thought wow, to become a really good rapper or big rapper in this country you have to sound as smooth as K.O or Kid X, Smashes at the time.”
