Despite the undeniable talent harboured by many aspiring rappers, not every individual embarking on this journey will traverse the path to success, owing to a variety of distinct factors. Tyler ICU is among the artists who did not achieve the coveted triumph of attaining recognition as a prominent South African rapper. Instead, he chose to embrace the Amapiano wave, where his performance has been outstanding.

Taking to Instagram, the Mnike hitmaker took time to have an interaction with his fans as he opened up for them to ask questions. One of the questions that came through is that why he decided to leave SA Hip Hop. “Why you left the Hip Hop Shandis?” Asked one of his followers.

In response, Tyler ICU made it known that he left the rap game to join the Yanos because there’s no love in the SA Hip Hop scene. “No love that side,” he said.

The Banyana chanter had significant potential to thrive in the South African Hip Hop scene, having collaborated on several tracks with the late Riky Rick.

Tyler ICU has experienced tremendous triumph in the Amapiano genre, with his hit track “Mnike” attaining global recognition. His accomplishments have positioned him as a nominee for the MTV EMA Awards in the category of Best African Act, standing alongside renowned African musical forces such as Burna Boy, Diamond Platinumz, and Libianca.
