The international superstar vented on social media, asserting that he was far more qualified for the award than South Africa’s dazzling golden trio. The self-proclaimed African Giant wrote on his Instagram story expressing his anger saying;  “The Grammys is full of sh*ts and lies. We all know that. Nobody else deserves that shit but me. They can’t stop me now not ever!!!”

The aforementioned Instagram post by Burna Boy wasn’t the only one. The international superstar also launched into a tirade, complaining that despite his best efforts, the Grammys chose to overlook him. “Even after assembling the Avengers on my album Grammy still choose to shenk me. BTW “My Happiness Still Be My Own,” Burna Boy added.

Not just the singer was upset by the snub but missing out on the prestigious award also came as a surprise to most of his music followers and fellow artists. Since the Grammy Awards, social media has been a hive of activity, with some artists, musicians, and creatives enjoying their victories and the Recording Academy receiving criticism from others.

Burna Boy lost to South Africans n singers Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode, and Wouter Kellerman. The group won Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards, which were held on February 5 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The Last Last hitmaker is a familiar face in the South African music industry, with quite a number of hit songs with SA rappers notably AKA. The Nigerian superstar was the headline act at Mzansi’s DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival where his huge following in Mzansi vibed to his music.
