Anatii’s Album ‘Iyeza’ Receives Nomination From The SAMA25

Anatii’s first solo studio album Iyeza has been nominated at the SAMA25 in the category of Best African Adult Contemporary Album.

Iyeza consists of 10 songs which the rapper produced himself, counted in the list are hit singles Thixo Onofefe, Usangathanda Na and Wena. The album offered a different sound and style which saw him rap in vernacular.

He mentioned a while back that he chose to use his home language Xhosa because it felt natural and fans loved him even more for it.“It’s not really an inspiration but i found that writing music in Xhosa was the easiest thing to do because it felt so natural.” he wrote.

“I was nervous for tonight but #iyeza has been nominated for best African adult contemporary album,” read his tweet.

This year Anatii also received a nomination from one of the most prestigious awards Global Social Awards held in Prague the capital city of the Czech Republic.

SAMA25 RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said the Samas for this year are bigger and better.

“We look forward to the 25th edition of the SAMA. We continue to be the biggest and most consistent music award ceremony and as we look back over the years, we see how our journey has been paved with dedication and commitment to the cause of making SA music recognized for its greatness.”
