Zingah Explains Why He Thinks MashBeatz’s “Never Ride” Is Not The Song Of The Year. If there could be a time in SA Hip hop where one would talk about a massive comeback at a time the game has been against all odds, this year is clearly evidence. The genre has been facing massive competition from the amapiano but this year big-name rappers and young rappers have all come together in a bid to save the culture.

Both rappers and producers have been at the forefront to make sure they abolish the notion that “SA Hip Hop Is dead.” The likes of MashBeatz have gathered rappers to produce good songs this year and the famed producer has been active in the game with Never Ride as one of the most talked-about joints.

Taking to Twitter, Zingah stated that Maglera Doe Boy has the verse of the year with A-Reece having the song of the year in God Like. “Maglera has verse of the year. Rap song the year has to be Reece with GODLIKE though,” tweeted Zingah.

In response one of the SA Hip hop fans stated that Mashbeat has the song of the year in Never Ride. “Song of the year, MashBeat- never Ride,” read the tweet. Zingah continued by expressing his disagreement with the viewpoint and gave his justification.

The former CashTime member stated that MashBeat Never Ride would’ve become the song of the year if Sete and Lemons (Lemonade) were not in existence. “If we were to discount Sete and Lemons, I would agree.” Zingah responded in a tweet.

Even though Never Ride was nominated for the song of the year at the forthcoming SA Hip Hop Awards, the track still has a mountain to claim as it will be competing with K.O’s Sete for the award. Sete and AKA‘s Lemons (Lemonade) have been dominating the radio charts and online streaming platforms but the former has been dominant breaking records week in, and week out.
