Watch! YoungstaCPT Shares How He Felt Growing Up Being Called A Ni**er! YoungstaCPT recently sat down to chat with Riky Rick on the Lab Live podcast where he opened up about his journey, breaking barriers and how got to be who he is today.

In the interview, he spoke about why he doesn’t use gangsterism in his music saying, “I don’t have the right. Because it’s not an act for me, it’s not a script, it’s not a character that I can just portray at any moment and I go back home and I’m a different guy. I don’t have the right as a coloured guy to speak on things that I’m not apart of.”

The rapper shared how his focus has always been the music since he was six years old and only felt that maybe it wasn’t for him and got discouraged because he was made to feel it could only be for black guys. Youngsta said he was nicknamed ni**er in his neighborhood growing up because he liked to rap and the way he used to dress. He also shared how that made him feel.

“The discouragement behind you wanting to do it is like… maybe this is not for me. Maybe it’s not going to work, maybe it’s only for black guys. In my hood, my nickname was ni**er… cause I rap, cause I wear baggy clothes. If anything pass my elbow…I’m a ni**er, so my nickname was ni**ger for many years they used to call me ni**er. All my bros. It’s not even a sad thing, I loved it. My nickname was ni**er, anyone who knew me from my young life , they’ll know. Yeah, that’s ni**er,” he explained.
