The rivalry between these two prominent figures in the music industry has been a topic of intense for years, but now, Cassper has decided to shed light on the very beginnings of their dispute. Speaking during an exclusive interview on L-Tido Podcast, Mufasa shared the story of what started his beef with AKA for the first time.

“The real beef started because of a song, it was because of Gusheshe,” Cassper said. “I made the song and I wanted Okmalumkoolkat on it, then Koolkat got on the song and he (AKA) loved it so much and he said let me put on a third verse. I was like nah, like this song is perfect and he came like three days back to back,” Cassper added.

Nyovest said that denying AKA a verse on Gusheshe made the latter feel unwelcome. “I feel like, he kinda felt like I was saying yoh I dont need you cause I also said like I wouldn’t want you to be on my first hit,” Cassper said. “From there it got a bit sour, but I was like let me make another song for you, we have three songs together me and Kiernan so I was trying to make another Gusheshe for his project but he never used any of them.”

Ever since the Gusheshe debacle, Cassper and AKA‘s relationship took a massive knock. Cassper mentioned that the turning point came when the two artists finally confirmed their beef when they were recording at George Avakian’s studio.

“One time we were at George Avakian’s studio, they were making (Living On The Edge) and I wanted to be on the song and I wasn’t big enough to be on the song, so they chose Kiernan to be on the song,” Cassper said.

Explaining how the two confirmed their beef, Cassper said; “we were chilling smoking outside and I said to him I want to be the greatest, I want to be the biggest. I’ve studied you, I’ve studied HHP, I want to be bigger and better than all of you guys, and I feel like that kinda like set it off.”
