Makwa Asks Slikour Point-Blank If They Are Beefing. Tension is running high in SA Hip-hop as prominent producer Makwa confronted rapper Slikour on a public platform.

Taking to Twitter (X), Makwa sought clarity from Slikour on whether the two are beefing. “@slikouron are we beefing?” Wrote Makwa in a post. The famed producer’s remarks came after he dropped his long-awaited album Makwande which was not promoted on Slikour’s Slikour On Life publication.

Makwa expressed that within his circle of industry colleagues, he didn’t receive any substantial support for his project, even from some of those he had helped in the past. “I mean niggas that I’ve helped over the years.” Wrote Makwa.

Makwa not only felt disheartened by the lack of promotion and support for his music project, but his followers also echoed and aligned with his sentiments.

Although Makwa has made a significant impact in the South African rap scene, the renowned producer has faced his own challenges in the fiercely competitive industry. The iLokishi singer reached a stage where he even considered giving up on making music. His recent release of a new music project brought a sense of relief to many of his fans.  “I don’t know about making music anymore bro,” Makwa said after he was begged to drop a music project.
