“Stop rapping about sh*t you don’t have,” Riky Rick Addresses Upcoming Artists. In as much as Hip hop is a culture what makes it what it is – is the music.

Before a single is even composed a writer usually finds more comfort putting down an idea of what’s familiar. In the history of music the songs that were original detailing the artists first hand experiences remain classics. After all, a song about real life is bound to have an effect.

Speaking with Reason on the issue, the cotton king and rapper Riky Rick shared how the lack of originality may be the cause of delay in progress.

The Wonder rapper made reference to how upcoming artists rap about what they don’t have which may make it easy for them to even reach that if they are living in illusion. Riky stated that rapping about what you know and have may breed platinum worthy songs.

“Let’s stop talking about sh*t we don’t have. Stop talking about shit that’s not yours. Don’t rap another rapper’s life, rap your own. I just don’t wanna see all these 19 year olds and 20 year olds coming up talking about money but they still using uber. 2020 let’s be real with this sh*t,” Riky told Reason
