How Reason Played Part In Spreading Fake News Promoting Xenophobic Prejudice

How Reason Played Part In Spreading Fake News Promoting Xenophobic Prejudice. Reason has been blamed for playing part in spreading the news that were deemed fake in concern to Xenophobic attacks.

In the midst of everything that is taking place in South Africa at the moment, some people used the chance to add more fuel to an already blazing fire. The xenophobic attacks which began on Sunday have made things worse leading to people believing all that the media is reporting. It turned out yesterday that some of the news circulating online were fake and old.

One of the news was reported by The Star publication that school children from Katlegong have been abducted and injured. The news turned out to be blatant lies as residents claimed that no child was injured or kidnapped by Somalians. Social media was sure to make a big deal of the news, evoking even much intense anger from people.

Rapper Reason shared the story from a hearsay on his social media account. He was trying his hand in playing part to ensure safety. Unfortunately he was called out for playing part in such act.

The rapper apologized and justified that he was trying to spread awareness with everything that’s going on.

“Once again. If I ever contributed to any of this, I apologize. I got a call from my mother stressed about kids being kidnapped at a nearby school and parents fetching their kids in a panic. So I also panicked. & used my voice to warn people. My intention was safety. Not injury,” wrote the rapper.
