Apple Music Names Blxckie The Star Of Its African Rising Campaign

In recognition of his fast-growing impact in the hip-hop scene, Apple Music recently announced Blxckie as the star of its Africa Rising campaign. The initiative adds another feather to his already well-adorned hat since it earns him further support both on African soil and internationally from the streaming service. A part of this will include interviews with Nadeska and Ebro on their respective shows.

In the most recent interview on The Nadeska Show, Blxckie and the host dived into conversations around his musical influences and remaining in tune with his fanbase. Additionally, he reflects on the overwhelming reception of his debut album, “B4NOW”, and states:

“It’s been, it’s been really crazy. I’ve only been in Jozi for like a little bit under a year now. I didn’t expect like,  to have an album out at this, at this stage. You know what I mean? ‘Cause I came from where I’m from here to just like, try and figure things out. I just didn’t expect it to be so quick. And then I’ve been working on new music also, uh, while the album’s out and just, yeah, just receiving the love and, and just… it’s been crazy. It’s been a nice experience.” The 21-year-old’s Durbanite was excited upon the announcement of being part of the programme and pinpointed initiatives and features like Africa Rising as catalysts of change for the global music industry.

The artist development campaign ranks Omah  Lay,  Manu  Worldstar,  Tems, Amaarae, Ayra Starr and Yaw Tog as its trailblazing alumni.
