“The Emotional turmoil drove me to an attempted suicide,” Proverb On The End Of His Marriage. Before moving on with former Miss SA Liesel, rapper and radio host Proverb went through a divorce that left him shattered.

The Winter’s Club rapper announced the release of his book just few days book, a memoir he titled The Book Of Proverb. One of the chapters of the book see the rapper expressing how hard it was adjusting to the reality that his marriage was over.

“I Went through a rough time when my marriage hit the rocks. People were reading about it in newspapers and magazines and on social media but on Sundays I put that behind and focused on the job at hand,” shares Proverb.

He added on to speak on how the article of his divorce happened and how it really registered to him that his marriage was over and the news were all in public display.

“The article about my eventual divorce broke on a Sunday, and I had to do a show later that evening. All the emotional turmoil eventually drove me to an attempted suicide. But I still went on air the following Sunday. The show must go on,” he added.

He went on to share how it would’ve been selfish of him to go through with the suicide when there’s was and still is so much to live for and look forward to.

“I can’t afford to be selfish, it’s not all about me. It’s not the Proverb show or about how well I dress or speak. And once I accepted that I became aware of how great my responsibility was.”

Proverb divorced his wife Onalerona in 2015 after she allegedly cheated on him. They have two children together.
