Rock joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s sharply cropped hair being reminiscent of Demi Moore’s debut in the film “G.I. Jane” and suggested she star in a sequel while introducing the best documentary award with a short comedic act.

Smith rushed up to Rock and smacked him before heading to his seat with Jada and shouted foul language, causing uncomfortable tension and uncertainty in the Dolby Theatre. “Keep my wife’s name out of your f******* mouth,” yelled Smith.

Social media users believe it’s all part of an Oscars’ ploy to boost viewership. Meanwhile, SA rappers have sided with Will Smith after the Hollywood star has been a victim of mental health to which some of them can relate.

Even though he does not condone violent attacks, Cassper is one of the rappers who said he can connect to Will Smith’s reaction. The rapper has endured a great deal as a result of social media trolls and strife in the music industry.

I relate to Will Smith sooo much at this moment. I don’t condone smacking people, i just relate cause yo, people be talking crazy and just going on with they bad self. Ain’t spose to be like that mara if you can, just mize, if you can’t and you snap, forgive yourself, it happens.” Tweeted Cassper.

K.O. also spoke about the situation between Will Smith and Chris Rock. K.O revealed that even the nicest people sometimes lose their minds when irritated, who expressed his hope that he will not do the same to those who mistreat him. “Even the nicest guys lose they cool at times… lol hope I don’t ever get triggered enough to go #WillSmith on one of these okes. Zikhala esihlathini ke manje.” Wrote K.O.

DJ Switch is one of the many people who thinks the incident was staged. Smith’s behavior was questioned by the renowned South African hip hop DJ, who questioned why he opted to slap him instead of punching him like men do. He went on to say that Will Smith deserves credit for spreading the message against bullying.

Hmmm the more I watch it the more I think it’s staged, I don’t think you’d smack a person if your a guy you punch him the f**ck out! The message is clear we need to stop this bullying Will is a damn good actor his acceptance was just as good as “pursuit of happiness” Tweeted DJ Switch.
