Taking to Twitter (X), the famed rapper posed a question to his followers on whether he is still the Lyricist Of The Year since the SA Hip Hop Awards didn’t take place last year.
“SAHHA awarded me Lyricist Of The Year in 2022. It’s 2024 & a new one hasn’t been awarded yet. Does this make me the longest reigning Lyricist Of The Year? Asking for a friend,” Priddy Ugly said.

As it stands, there is no official date on when the SA Hip Hop Awards will take place, but Rashid Kay who is one of the award ceremony organisers, indicated that the SA Hip Hop Awards will happen early this year.
“So SA Hip Hop Awards are still gonna happen, new date. So what we planned is we do them earlier in the year instead of November or December so that we have enough time to organise Back To The City in October,” he said.
