Pics! Here’s How Much Cassper’s Newly Launched Limited Sneakers Cost And The Meaning Behind Its ‘990’ Name! It’s official, Cassper has become the latest SA rapper to come out with his own sneaker brand and we have everything you need to know.

On Thursday, Cassper finally launched his much anticipated sneaker from his collaboration with entrepreneur and Drip Footwear founder, Lekau Sekoana called Root of Fame. During the launch, Cassper shared how Root of Fame collaboration came about revealing it was an idea that he came up with during lockdown when he couldn’t do gigs and felt he wasn’t in the limelight anymore. Cassper says he wanted to create something that people could wear his name anywhere.

The Siyathandana rapper also unveiled a major PR banner on the tallest building in Africa where he also signed the famous “R100 million” deal. We wonder how much it cost them for that one. Cassper explained the name behind the sneakers called “Root Of Fame 990s” saying 990 comes from the year he was born…1990 and he left out the 1 because he is the one.

The Root of Fame 990s come in three leading colours which are black, off-white and pink saying the latter was inspired by someone close to him who recently got diagnosed with Cancer. The shoe cost a cool R990 and its limited edition. Upon it’s launch, the Cassper shoe was sold out in a couple of hours and now you will have to wait until restock or when it’s available in Drip Stores.
