Dumisani Dlamini Responds To The Backlash Of Being An Absent Father To Doja Cat. Earlier this week Doja Cat hit the spotlight when she revealed she has never met her father veteran actor Dumisani Dlamini.

On a clip which made rounds on the internet of Doja meeting Whoopi Goldberg, she was seen emotionally expressing that she has never met her father. Dumisani is one of the actors who rose to prominence when he portrayed the character of Crocodile in Sarafina. Whoopi was also part of the film which explained why it was special when Doja met her.

After she said “it’s funny that you’ve got to meet him and i didn’t,” many people criticized Dumisani. In response to the backlash, the father of the rapper explained why he wasn’t there for his daughter.

“I have been looking for my daughter as well. You mustn’t forget these Americans. Americans will always want to have something to cause a stir so that she stays in the media and is talked about around the world,” he said speaking to Metro FM.

He added that Doja’s management had blocked all his efforts to reach out to her.

“I have tried to search for my baby and the company that runs her entertainment has been blocking me. They know that if I could get hold of her, maybe she will disappear from the picture . I know my daughter, wherever she is, is looking for me.”

The 24 year-old grew up in America and made a career out of being a dancer, song-writer and rapper.
