This time around veteran rapper Khuli Chana is reportedly on the chopping block as the owes SARS over R1 Million in taxes. According to the Sunday World publication, SARS filed an indictment against the veteran rapper at Johannesburg’s high court last week.

According to the court documents, the celebrity through his business Khuli Chana Holdings owes SARS more than R426 000 in value-added tax. However, the debt subsequently increased to more than R615,000. The sum increased when R30,000 in fines and nearly R160 000 in interest were added to the amount he owed.

The Hape Le Hape hitmaker reportedly owes overdue Pay As You Earn (PAYE) taxes totalling over R30,000. SARS added another R11 000 penalty and R135 000 in interest, resulting in the sum soaring to approximately R445.000.

As if that is not enough, his business owes the Revenue Department about R1,000 in fines, practically R6,000 in interest, and a minimum of R19 000 in unemployment insurance money. Khuli Chana who recently welcomed his new baby is yet to respond to the summons presented by SARS.

The rapper has been engaging in business deals in a bid to expand his legacy both in the corporate world and the creative world.

“I truly want my Legacy to not be what I did for myself but what I did for the next generation,” tweeted Khuli Chana. “I can’t help everyone in my DM’s but I promise you that our Next innovation will give every musician/creative a fair chance at building a fruitful career or business. struu,” he wrote as he prepares to open up the creative industry.
