Toya Delayze Shares More About The Music Genre She Invented ‘Afro-rave’. Being briefly absent from the SA spotlight clearly didn’t mean that rapper & singer Toya Delayze wasn’t making music moves. She recently announced that she has established a new genre called Afro-rave.
The inspiration came from her relocation to the UK. Coming across various sounds gave her ideas to come with Afro-rave. As an intro to what it really is, she dropped a single titled Ufunani.
“We tailored the sound, which reflects some of my heritage and also where I am at the moment. It feels like a little print of the space I am in right now,” said Toya speaking to TshisaLIVE.
“It is about not feeling like you need to compromise. People should be free to follow their own path. Anyone can be special and anywhere can be heaven as long as you don’t look down on it,” she added.
