Recently, the Free State-born rapper was announced alongside Blxckie as the captain for the forthcoming Sportscene and PUMA Put Me On rap competition.

In a recent interview leading up to the competition, the “Dor Do Povo” chanter was prompted to share his insights on what lies ahead for the future of South African Hip Hop. Maglera Doe Boy expressed that South African Hip Hop is on a promising path, particularly with the emergence of young artists like himself and Blxckie, who are creating chart-topping hit tracks.

“I think it looks like a continuation of what we’ve been putting out. I think it starts with like sonic wise the music has been getting louder,” Maglera said. “These things always happen, like music gets louder and then it chills.”

The rapper added that right now the game is heading towards the most exciting era with the young rappers like him who have been dropping loud music consistently. “Right now I think we’re about to go into like the most banging era with us in South Ah because we’ve been dropping like such loud music. If I can, I dont even know how to define it but the music is like hard, high energy. I think there’s going to be more vernac.” Maglera said.
