On Sunday morning before he passed away, the rapper took to Twitter and shared two tweets where he was talking about the importance of appreciating your loved ones when they are still alive. “You only Truly appreciate your loved ones when there’s a countdown, the small things don’t matter anymore,” he tweeted.

“Love like they are leaving tomorrow,” he added in a second tweet. Following the passing of Riky Rick and DJ Dimplez a few months ago, Tumi has left most rappers in awe as they are still healing from the passing of veteran rappers. The Basadi chanter has become the fourth SA rapper to pass away this year and it is clearly a devastating moment for South African rappers who have worked with him during his time in the industry.

His latest music release was the music video for his song Presidential which he featured Nadia Nakai and MustBeDubz.

Several of Tumi’s SA hip-hop peers including AKA and Gigi Lamayne resorted to Twitter and paid their tribute to the vibrant rapper.

JR wrote: “RIP to the young king, Tumi Tladi. Death be not proud.”

Gigi Lamayne wrote: “Rest in Peace.”

AKA posted a photo of the rapper writing: “Rest in Peace my boy.”
