Big Xhosa Announces The End Of “Big Xhosa Character”, Introduces New Approach To His Music. Big Xhosa‘s appearance in the SA hip-hop game has been an adventure for both the rapper and the hip-hop community. The rapper used his humorous side to get attention and get people talking about him, but it is all coming to an end.

Taking to Instagram, the rapper announced that he will be putting an end to the “Big Xhosa Character” as he introduced a new way of making music. “I would like first to thank everyone who supported me through this whole journey up until this point. However, it has come to a point where now I need to take a different direction with my music, brand and content, the comedic side of music, trolling and swearing has come to an end.“

“The truth is this Big Xhosa character is not me and what I represent and I cannot continue pretending to be a person I’m not. I just had to become this just so I can bring attention to my real work and my music which worked well because you know me now. I saw an opportunity in humour and I took advantage of it. I had to go that route to get myself here.“

“The character has become bigger than I expected it or planned it to be and it just hurts knowing that I am this much talented and the first or only thing people can think of about me is comedy music and explicit stupid things I have said and done.” He wrote.

“It’s difficult to work with artists that I would like to work with because all they see is a character which I am not and they think that’s who I really am. I am more than that as many of you have seen what I am able to do when I am serious with my music and not trolling or trying to be funny. “

“I have also seen the influence my music as Big Xhosa has had on kids as I would meet a lot of them and they would sing to me explicit songs or language I used in my music and they are not even at a stage to sing such stuff. That’s why sometimes I would go for months and months without releasing anything because I can’t continue like this.”

The rapper has promised to his fans to look forward to the new character as he plans to release a new single in the coming weeks. “I refuse to continue living up to something or a character I am not. I am not a comedian I cant continue being funny because that’s not my talent. However i can continue doing giving you guys music because that’s my talent and i can create almost any type of sound of music thats how much versatile I am as you will see with my upcoming single dropping in a few week from now,” he added in a statement.
