In a recent interview, the rapper told MacG that K.O requested him to write a rap verse in vernac before signing him to his previous record company Cashtime Records.

Kid X, formerly known for his kasi songs, returned to the hip hop space with Father of Zen, a meditation on concentration and sincerity playlist. The rapper has been taking a sabbatical when it comes to his music career, but dropping the Father of Zen album sent a clear message that he is still relevant in the SA rap game.

The rapper has enjoyed massive success with his song “Mtan Omuntu” featuring Shwi Nomtekhala and Makwa. The track reached 3 million views and it also managed to secure Platinum status. This is clear indication that Kid X is a complete artist who has garnered tremendous achievement throughout his music career. Therefore, working on Jazz music might also prove to be another successful adventure for him.
