Burna Boy Responds To Sho Madjozi’s Accusing Him Of Having ‘Own It’ Remix Taken Down Because Of Their BET Nominations!

Burna Boy Responds To Sho Madjozi’s Accusing Him Of Having ‘Own It’ Remix Taken Down Because Of Their BET Nominations! On Thursday, Sho Madjozi made accusations that Burna Boy was behind Stormzy’s ‘Own It’ remix that they are both on being taken down because they are up against each other for a BET Award.

In her twitter rant, Sho Madjozi suggested it was a bit shady that the BET announcements were on June 15th and by June 17th she was getting complaints from fans saying they couldn’t find it the song online.

She went on to provide proof in the form of an email sent to her that it was Burna who requested for the remix to be taken down.

In response, Burna said Own It was not his song for him to have made that decision. He went on to suggest that it might have been because Stormzy’s record label didn’t clear the remix and it got flagged.

“Own It is NOT my song.If my voice is on it however it should have been properly cleared. If the remix wasn’t cleared with the label(Atlantic US)it automatically gets flagged. Nothing to do with me personally or any award. Always best to reach out professionally. Congrats on BET’s,” Burna tweeted.

Still, that wasn’t enough to convince Sho Madjozi who finds the flagging timing suspicious.

To believe this I would have to believe that: 1. The song got automatically flagged a month late by coincidence 2. When they said YOU wanted it down they meant your label 3. A big international label would release a song without clearing it It’s a lot Burna. Let’s keep it [hundred],” Sho Madjozi responded.
