PH Raw Explains Why The Relationship Between The OG’s & New Wave Rappers Is “Bad”. Elaborating more on the points Scoop Makhathini made on the previous episode on the PopCast, Ph Raw expressed how he finds distance amongst the OG’s and new wave rappers.

In SA Hip Hop, we’ve seen how new young rappers try to get the OG’s on their records. At times they fail and at times they succeed, the reason could be what PH Raw raised that the there is bad and competitive relationship.

“I agree with Scoop…I know I support and give love to the younger generation, and I’m not the only one but the truth is, the relationship between the OGs and New Wave isn’t as good as it should be…intact it’s bad in my opinion,” wrote PH.

In addition, he revealed that he has witnessed the OG’s demanding the respect from the new wave stars.

“I’ve witnessed so many studio session where the OG is always trying to ensure he is respected by the wave, it always becomes a student teacher session…AND THAT SUCKS. It should be Artist to Artist, mutual respect on the art not your longevity or time in the game.

“We talk about the OGs supporting the new wave. THAT SHIT DONT HAPPEN ENOUGH. I know this cos hip hop itself doesn’t support each other, nevermind the OGs supporting the new wave. Niggas don’t support other artists PERIOD, so the idea that we support the new wave DOESNT ADD UP,” he continued.

In conclusion he addressed the OG’s that they have absolutely no right to tell the youngins what to do and how especially with their craft.

“Again, we OGs have no right to tell the new wave what to do and how to do it, it’s not like we had it 100% either… we act like the new wave has taken what we created an messed it up…TOTAL BS. They picked up the mess we left and are doing pretty well with it.”
