PH Raw Addresses Rappers Who Do Other Genres To Remove Themselves As Hip Hop Artists. The topic of who to consider a rapper or hip hop artist still remains a big debate. PH Raw who is also adamant on keeping the culture pure and real, expressed the freedom to dilute hip hop is causing confusion.
SA Hip Hop is like most genres that have allowed artists to fuse it with other genres, which makes music more colorful and inviting to a variety of audiences. But, the issue is that certain artists still identify as Hip Hop artists though they no longer drop actual rap music. It may be versatility but it’s not pleasing anyone.
“If your music is not hip hop, PLEASE do Hip Hop a huge favor and remove yourself from the list, and allow those who have focused on the genre 365 days a week their opportunity. Its only fair,” wrote PH whose views echoes Nota’s everyday statement about Hip hop needing to identify as raw and authentic.
Rappers such as Cassper, AKA, Zingah, Tshego, Sho Madjozi and Gigi Lamayne to say the least have dropped songs that have casted doubt on their description as Hip Hop artists.
