Cassper Reacts To The Death Of GBV Slain Actress Thandeka Mdeliswa

South Africa has lost yet another young talented actress Thandeka Mdeliswa to Gender Based Violence, as her family revealed in a public statement that the up and coming actress succumbed to gunshot wounds suffered earlier this week.

According to the family statement, Mdeliswa was attacked and brutally shot as an act of GBV on Thursday 3 September and was rushed to hospital and despite a three-day fight for her life, Thandeka Mdeliswa passed away on Saturday, aged 34.

“The brutality which was affected on our daughter has left us deeply hurt. This is another incident of gender-based violence (GBV) which our country has to fight against. We believe justice will be served. Evander SAPS are continuing to investigate.” the statement reads.

The #RipThandekaMdeliswa has since been trending on twitter and some of our local celebrities including Cassper Nyovest, have paid their respects to the actress also commenting on the on going issue of men who violate women with the use violence, expressing that the president and the men must rise up and take action against the brutality.

“Everyday I log into this app there’s a woman or child raped, missing or dead. The men who are supposed to be the leaders are too quiet and too comfortable!! There’s only so much one can do as a citizen nje. The president needs to act!!! He needs to show up!! Men need to act now”  Cassper wrote.

 

Boity was also left speechless about the sad news, paying her respects to the deceased with a tweet, using the heartbreaking and crying emoji.

Mdeliswa appeared on many shows such as the series eKasi: Our Stories, Ngempela, The Contract as well as her first starring role in the SABC 1 drama, iKani where she played the role of Khanya.
