Could Cassper Nyovest Become South Africa’s First Hip-Hop Billionaire?

Could Cassper Nyovest become South Africa’s first hip-hop billionare? The multi-talented rapper has worked on several projects in his career aside from music. Family Tree Records CEO Cassper Nyovest never holds back when it comes to making money outside of music and isn’t shy of flaunting his cars, custom made jewellery even the spoils for his newborn baby.  

The songwriter and producer took to Twitter to share with his followers that he is headed in the direction of becoming South Africa’s first Hip Hop Billionaire. In his tweet he wrote, “Enough about the fight, I know it’s boring now. I got a dope project I’m working on. A first of its kind. Might be ready 1^st quarter of the year. Another step into the direction of becoming South Africa’s first Hip Hop Billionaire. We thinking outside the box. Super excited!!!”

The high energy rapper has had success with endorsement deals and business ventures he has taken on outside of his music career. Nyovest has worked with the mobile telecommunication company MTN to produce his own cellphone, and with Vodka brand Ciroc as a brand ambassador for their alcohol. Other brands the rapper has worked with include KFC, Castle Lite, Nike, Shoprite, and Samsung.

The rapper’s most prominent business venture is his record label Family Tree Records. Under his record label Nyovest has signed released all his own albums and fellow signee and close friend Nadia Nakai’s albums Bragga and Nadia Naked. Fellow rapper Tshego left the record label for Universal Music Group.
