Focalistic Celebrates Topping The Local Radio Charts
Pretoria’s very own Pitoria Maradona Focalistic adds #1 on the local radio charts to this long list of accolades.
Focalistic celebrates topping the local radio charts! The 24-year-old versatile performer from Pretoria, Focalistic has had a lot to celebrate this past year. He walked away with the Best Freshman award at the South African Hip Hop awards in 2020 and was awarded the title of MTV Base’s Hottest MC of 2020.
The Pitoria Maradona received two plaques for his singles Ke Star and Blecke in December 2020. For Ke Star the rapper received a Platinum Plaque, the music video for the amapiano hit is currently on 2.8 million views on YouTube. For the song Blecke featuring Jazzi Disciples he received a Gold Plaque.
Adding to his achievements, the Vrr Phaa songwriter celebrated topping the Metro FM Top 40 Countdown charts with Kyeezi with his song Onkoro featuring Riky Rick, Semi Tee and Reece Madlisa from his chart topping debut album Sghubu Ses Excellent. In a tweet congratulating the artist, Metro FM said, “Congratulations to Focalistic !!!! Taking the top spot this week on the only chart that counts the #MetroFMTop40 with Kyeezi. Focalistic featuring Riky Rick, Semi Tee, Madlisa Reece – Onkoro. A Certified Hit!!!”.

Focalistic beat out hits such as DiNaledi by Major League DJ’z and Mpho Sebina, Summer Yomuthi by Blaq Diamond and Big Zulu’s viral hit Mali Eningi featuring Riky Rick and Intaba Yase Dubai.
Amongst all of his amazing achievements Focalistic is also nominated for Best Breakthrough Act at the MTV Africa Music Awards next to now international R&B star Elaine, Tems, and local songstress Sha Sha.
