Gigi Lamayne has been in the game for quite some time and has collaborated with some of hip-hop’s biggest names, including AKA, Kwesta and Khuli Chana. The Koze Kube Nini rapper is certainly in a league of her own as she prepares to release an album in 2021.

Gigi Lamayne recently took to twitter to explain to fans what gives her the advantage in SA Hip Hop. She explained that she can spit bars in more then one language.

Gigi wrote, “I think what makes me unmatched is my lingual abilities. 5 languages, the fact that I can actually rap better than some gents. Give me a genre, I’ll slap it. Ask Makhadzi, DJ Tira and King Monada. I’m a muso, not just a mreppa. The catalogue don’t lie hunny (thread).”

She mentioned that she had taken a break from hip-hop specifically South African hip-hop to discover other genres and to explore how hip-hop can live within those genres. In discovering other genres she worked with King Monada and Makhadzi. She did however reassure her fans that the album is almost ready.

Nonetheless the album is almost done and writing it, creating it… Haibo guys is this Me? Some people fell off and I’m still here. Cashing out. Making moves. Goes to show that you need to believe in you! I learned that the hard way.

At the end of her twitter rant she takes a moment to remind fans that she has collaborated with sparkling wine brand Chateu Del Rei and hopes for more work and more collaborations in the future.

Gigi Lamayne has not let fans in on the details of her new album and has kept everything hush. Fans can however expect the album to drop some time in 2021.
