Heavyweight rapper Stogie T keeps a close eye on the SA Hip Hop game to see who’s doing what and who’s verse had the most impact throughout the year. The award winning rapper is ready to hand out the coveted award for Verse Of The Year.
The Dunno rapper recently took to twitter to share with fans the list of rappers who have made it onto the popular ‘Verse Of The Year’ list for 2020. Stogie T singled out 20 verses that are nominated for the awards. He mentioned that he’ll let the MC’s themselves pick the list.
The list features some of South Africa’s best lyricists including YoungstaCPT, Priddy Ugly, Zakwe, P Dot O and Kwesta just to name a few.
Stogie T’s tweet read, “#VOTY2020 These are the 20 best verses from 2020. Going to let the mcis themselves pick which 10 get the nod, why? Cuz who better than them to judge.“
Stogie T picked verses from Freestyle Friday and from tracks that were release in 2020. The 2019 Verse Of The Year winner was rapper Reason. The rapper announced at the beginning of February that the 2020 Verse Of The Year Awards previously produced by Siya Metane’s SlikourOnLife will now be be produced by his very on podcast network Culture Capital Network.
Stogie T has began 2021 on an incredible note with the announcement of the second season of ‘Freestyle Friday’ moving to Channel O.
