Nota On Nelli Tembe’s Death: “I think She Had A Bad Trip And Was Onto Something”
Nota took the time to share his thoughts on what could have potentially caused the death of AKA’s fiancee, Nelli Tembe who died last week in Cape Town. Speaking on this during an interview with MacG, Nota touched on his visit to Cape Town to see AKA after the incident and his perspective of the incident that had everyone shocked.
The death was revealed in a joint press release from both families which read “It is with the deepest regret that we, the Tembe and Forbes families, confirm the untimely passing of our beloved fiancé, daughter, sister and daughter-in-law, Anele Tembe (22). Anele tragically passed on in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 11 April 2021.”
The press release did not delve into the details of the incident and because of that there has been a lot of speculation with rumours doing the rounds that she committed suicide, something her father disputed by saying “”I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged. A narrative irks me to no end… that Anele my daughter was chronically suicidal or had suicidal tendencies… Not a single member of my family, Anele’s family would have ever associated her with suicide. It never arose.“
Nota echoed the same sentiments by saying “I think she had a bad trip, I think she was on something and she had just had a bad trip and she fell or something”
A bad trip is described as “a frightening and unpleasant experience triggered by psychoactive drugs, especially psychedelic drugs such as LSD and Psilocybin mushroom.” See the interview below
