AKA Announces That He Is Temporarily Stepping Back From From His Duties At Cruz Vodka. Throughout his career, AKA has secured himself some of the best business deals ever. A prominent deal is his collaboration with Cruz Vodka on the Watermelon and Banana flavours, however since a news report was published about the nature of his relationship with Anele “Nellie” Tembe who passed away in April things might dramatically change for the rapper.
The rapper‘s management team T Effect released another statement that states the past few weeks have been difficult for him. He mentions that whilst dealing with his tragic loss he is also dealing with snippets of their relationship that have landed on social media and are being taken out of context. The statement also mentions that the rapper will be stepping back from his duties at Cruz Vodka because he needs to deal with his personal matter.
An excerpt from the statement reads, “Having had time to reflect on the events of the past few days, I have engaged with my business partners, and I feel it best that I temporarily step back from my duties with Cruz Vodka as I need this time to focus on the way forward, and deal with my personal matter.”
“I have done this for the sake of Anele’s memory which will forever be entrenched in my heart, our families and my fans. I am grateful to my business partners at Cruz Vodka for all their support and understanding of this decision to give me time, Daily I wake up to the reality that the person I was building a future with is no more, the pain is unbearable, with God’s grace I will remain strong and pick up the pieces.“
This news comes after AKA pulled out of his gig at Huawei Joburg Day. The performance was set to take place on the 29th of May 2021 and would’ve been his second performance since his loss after his performance at the Nedbank Cup Final.
