Blxckie Reveals The Unbelievable Number Of Songs He Had To Choose From For His Debut Album ‘B4Now’

Blxckie Reveals The Unbelievable Number Of Songs He Had To Choose From For His Debut Album ‘B4Now’. Blxckie‘s rise in the SA Hip Hop industry is one like no other. The rapper from Durban has consistently proved on his solo tracks and features that he is a force to be reckoned with in the industry. He recently dropped his debut album B4Now and the reception of it so far has been impeccable.

The Big Time Sh’lappa hitmaker recently joined MacG on the Podcast And Chill series to speak about his rise in SA Hip Hop, his debut album and linking up with Nasty C for his latest single Ye x4.

Whilst in conversation about the album, Sol Phenduka asked Blxckie how many songs he had to choose from to decide which 12 were going to end up on the album. Blxckie mentioned first mentioned the number 300 and MacG and Sol could not believe the number.

Then it was confirmed by a member of Blxckie’s team that they had to sort through a total of 420 songs for B4Now. Blxckie then responded to their shock saying, “If you do it every day, it’s bound to happen that you have a lot of songs.” He then explained in detail how he arrived to just 12 songs on the album.

I split up most of the thing into like months, and like years and whatever so like right now this is this for now and then there’s a plan for later, plan for later stuff like that. But, like out of those songs, most of them were like what, maybe like hooks? You know what I mean…

More like ideas and stuff like that but then you can like put it together except for me I just have to like sit there, listen to it and just do the verse and then it’s done or just do the outro then it’s done. So yeah… so to pick for the album it wasn’t that hard cause I knew the point I’m tryna bring across with the album like I’m just tryna introduce myself again basically to people that didn’t know me“.
