“It was for three days, came to my house you know what I’m saying. I like to work with people, Nota is there, Kwesta is there, we’re vibing. So we did three songs, we did Ngud’, we did Mayibabo with OkMalumKoolKat and then we did this one, nkari it’s a gqom mix, gqom trap with Busiswa… three songs. Shap When Ngud’ comes out, it’s a big song. I produced it.” He said.
DJ Maphorisa then continued explaining that when someone does something good in your life, you have to acknowledge them to show that you appreciate them. He explained that after Ngud’ was released, things changed. He mentioned that he had hoped that after the song received so much success, he would be rewarded with at least 20K to appreciate that he produced the song that changed a lot of people’s lives.
“I’ve never even got a cent from Ngud’, not a cent from Ngud’ like from sales and whatever. I never got nothing. So look now what’s going on, ba flopa. Ke majita shap, ke game.“
“What’s crazy about Ngud’, what’s crazy about it… After Ngud’ it was a new wave. I created a new wave where I sample House music then mix it with Kwaito and whatever. After that, you know what happened to that sound I created? I came with it. They took it. Makwa started doing Spirit then they did other songs and what what what. So all together, Makwa I gave him wave. Cause I did Ngud’, I did that f*cking song alone.“
