Scoop Praises Blxckie’s Rise In SA Hip Hop And Explains What He Feels Sets Him Apart From Other Rappers. Blxckie is one of SA Hip Hop’s best success stories, with the rate at how he rose to the top of the industry on everybody’s lips. His debut album B4Now secured him the support of SA Hip Hop and the rapper is currently the most talked about rapper in the industry.
On the latest episode of the POPcast with Sccop Makhathini, Ms Cosmo and guest Helen Herimbi there was conversation about new wave rapper Blxckie’s entrance into the SA Hip Hop game. They also spoke a little about his 12-track debut album. Scoop mentioned that Blxckie is a force to be reckoned with because he has done a few things right.
“He didn’t need a co-sign. He actually waited to release his footage or news about his relationship with Nasty C like he waited to release those kinds of visuals to let you know how deep he is in this thing. Another thing that I like and I understand it clearly, I was talking to Helen about it off air. I definitely will always love Hip Hop but I do love the way these kids are just showing me that I’m too old for it.“
Ms Cosmo asked Scoop what he meant by his comment and he explained that he can’t be at a Blxckie listening session but watching the people that were there makes him realize that he was once one of those kids. He also said that it’s not just the artists or the radio stations that make the game but the fans too.
He then had a message for the younger generation of rappers.
“I personally don’t feel comfortable anymore curating your art form cause I feel like it is not mine anymore, it’s yours. That’s just the way I feel“, He said.
