AKA Releases Statement On Cassper Officially Taking Over The Braai Show

AKA Releases Statement On Cassper Officially Taking Over The Braai Show. On Monday, it was announced that rapper Cassper Nyovest would be the new host of the second season of, The Braai Show on SABC 1. Cassper has been teasing on social media for a while now, that he has bagged his first presenting gig, which has now been revealed to be The Braai Show.

The popular musician, shared the good news on social media, tweeting “Cassper Nyovest is taking over The Braai Show on Sabc 1! It’s now called #TheBraaiShowWithCass. Don’t forget to use the hashtag!!! Broadcasting dates will be announced by channel soon!!! Le Plane ilandile!! ABASHWE!”

Cassper’s announcement was met with numerous messages congratulating him, on his latest venture, which sees him hosting a show that was previously hosted by his rival, AKA. On the first season of the show, AKA hosted guests such as DJ Tira, Prince Kaybee, Moozlie and Fikile Mbalula over a good old braai, as he got to know his guests better.

The Braai Show initially debuted on AKA TV and was later broadcast on SABC with AKA as the host. Not only was AKA the host of the show but he owns 50% of it and is an executive producer. The other 50% of the show is owned by Cake Media who produced the show.

In a statement issued to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, it was revealed that AKA did not approve of Cassper for the second season. The statement in part read, “Kiernan Forbes and his management team have become aware of insinuations that “The Braai Show”, of which he is a co-owner, will go ahead with a new presenter in its second season. Although not surprised by the opportunism. Mr Forbes does regret the lack of integrity and legal foresight by those who have sought to proceed with this incompetently sanctioned plan.”

The statement also says the matter is currently in the hands of his AKA’s legal team. Phil tweeted that the SABC is unaware of any issues between Cake Media and AKA. “#TheBraaiShowWithCass is licensed to the SABC, so any issues with contracts are productions’ prerogative,” read his tweet.

In a statement issued by SABC 1, Cassper said this about his new venture, “With my sneaker range I wanted to give people a taste of how it feels to be me. I want to explore this even further on The Braai Show with Cassper Nyovest. Not only will I try and get guests to reveal things people didn’t know about them, but I also want to show my fans a different side to my public persona. And, while I may not be a braai master, I’m pretty handy cooking on the coals. It’s going to be fun.”
